I started knitting in September 2005 and made several scarves to give away as Christmas presents. A lady from work taught me to knit and another taught me to purl. I really wanted to do more than just scarves and since I love any type of class, I signed up for a knitting class at my local yarn shop Knitcraft. I started taking classes in January 2006. It's more of a knitting group with a teacher who helps us with projects than a formal class. Everyone is working on something different and it's a great time. Most of the ladies in the group are older than me but I am not the youngest, we have a 20 year old among us.
I wish I had taken pictures of the scarves I made as gifts but hindsight is 20-20. I started taking pictures of my work in January 2006.
My very first scarf. I made this scarf for my husband in fall 2005.
My first hat. Also made for my husband (he's the official guinea pig!) This was my first project in the round. Although knitting with 5 needles was quite scary at first, I kind of like it now.
